The disease in people caused by a new influenza virus of swine origin has continued to evolve since first being reported in April.  The number of deaths in the U.S. continues to be low.  A map of all states and the case counts per statesis now included with our updates.  The CDC has issued guidance documents for; clinicians, Parents, epidemiologists, lab workers, patients, pregnant women, communities, schools(school administrators toolkit), employers, and travelers.  All of these documents and more can be found in the guidance section of the CDC’s H1N1 siteMichigan also updates case counts and information specific to Michigan daily. The Chippewa County Health Department continues to stress common sense measures that all citizens can take; washing hands frequently, staying home when sick, not touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
