•     October 1, 2012 CHANGES IN THE MICHIGAN FOOD LAW AND FOOD CODE

               

    On October 1st, 2012 the Michigan Department of Agriculture adopted a modified version of the 2009 FDA Food Code. There are key changes with this adoption that are important for you to know, which must be implemented into your food service operation.

    Our Sanitarians will go over the key changes to the Food Law and Food Code during the next food service inspection. Once it is documented on record that the changes were reviewed with the Person-in-charge, it is expected that the facilities implement these changes into their food service operation. Failure to comply with the updated food code will affect the facilitiy's biannual food service inspections and potentially cause an imminent public health threat.
