PURSUANT TO Section 2441 of the Michigan Public Health Code, Act 368, P.A. of 1978, as amended, a local health department may adopt regulations necessary or appropriate to implement or carry out the duties or functions vested by law in the local health department. The regulations shall be approved or disapproved by the local governing entity. Prior to adopting such regulations, a public hearing must be held, at which the public may offer testimony regarding such proposed regulations.
THEREFORE, PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the CHIPPEWA COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS will hold a public hearing on a PROPOSED Upper Peninsula Environmental Health Code. The hearing will be held on SEPTEMBER 10, 2020 at 5:30 o’clock PM in the District Courtroom, at 325 Court Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Please go to www.chippewacountymi.gov to join the meeting via Zoom or by telephone, as mandated by the current Safer at Home Executive Order.
Immediately following the public hearing, the County Board of Commissioners will convene its regular monthly meeting and will take action on its proposed U.P. Environmental Health Code.
If adopted, the proposed U.P. Environmental Health Code will provide uniform, consistent requirements in Environmental Health across the Upper Peninsula.
