K-12 School Guidance for Exposure
The public health code allows school administration to remove students from school if there is suspicion of communicable disease. Specifically, Rule 325.175 states “when a school official reasonably suspects that a student has a communicable disease except for AIDS, HIV infections, and noncommunicable diseases, the official may exclude the student for a period sufficient to obtain a determination by a physician or local health officer as to the presence of a communicable disease
