Job Summary:
Works under the supervision of the Personal & Family Health Supervisor, performs duties using professional judgment. Will provide clinical and field nursing services which may include but not be limited to Syringe Access, Communicable Disease, Family Planning, WIC, Immunizations, Children’s Special Health Care, and other Personal Health programs. Responsible for ensuring quality nursing services are rendered to all clients in accordance with the Michigan Nurse Practice Act and the standards of the Health Department.
Education, Training, Experience, Certification/Licensure:
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; Current State of Michigan nursing licensure, or eligibility for licensure with application for temporary license;
Experience: Minimum of two-year’s nursing experience.
Other Requirements: Current CPR certification. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s
license. Ability to provide own transportation.
Special Equipment, Skills or Other Requirements:
• Thorough knowledge of nursing theory and skills
• Ability to plan and schedule skilled nursing
• Ability to educate and train staff and/or clients and their families
• Excellent documentation skills
• Good communication skills

• Works in office conditions and travels throughout community to work in homes and other locations where services are delivered.

• Exposure to communicable diseases and blood and other bodily fluids.
